Flexial to Provide Reservoirs for F-35 Joint Strike Fighter
Under the contract awarded by Parker Hannifin, Flexial will provide reservoirs for the Parker - Moog developed Electro-Hydrostatic Actuation System that will control the aircraft's major flight surfaces.
Flexial Corporation announced today that it has been awarded a contract for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program through Parker Hannifin. Under the contract, Flexial will provide reservoirs for the Parker - Moog developed Electro-Hydrostatic Actuation System that will control the aircraft's major flight surfaces including the flaperons, rudders, and horizontal tails. The Navy's version of the aircraft will also include controls for the ailerons. The Joint Strike Fighter, or JSF, is a multinational development and acquisition effort for the United States Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, as well as eight cooperative international partners, including the United Kingdom, Canada, Italy, the Netherlands, Denmark, Australia, Norway, and Turkey. Expected to be the largest military aircraft procurement ever, the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter will replace a wide range of aging fighter and strike aircraft for allied defense forces worldwide. The aircraft will be built by an aerospace team led by Lockheed Martin, with Northrop Grumman and BAE Systems as major partners. There will be three primary variants of the F-35: the F-35A will be a Conventional Take Off and Landing (CTOL) version; the F-35B will be a Short Take Off / Vertical Landing configuration (STOVL); and the F-35C will be a Carrier Variant (CV). "Flexial Corporation is pleased to have been awarded this contract" says President and Founder Richard Larsen. "We have made aerospace a principal business focus, and have developed technologies that differentiate us in the aerospace marketplace in significant ways. We are delighted to partner with Parker Hannifin on this program." Flexial Corporation projects the total program value at more than $70 million through 2026. Founded in 1994, Flexial Corporation has risen to become the second-largest broad-spectrum producer of reservoirs, accumulators, sensors, actuators, and other welded metal bellows products for the world's aerospace, military, energy, commercial and industrial marketplaces. Located in Cookeville, TN, the company produces flight and mission-critical hardware for a wide array of Military and Commercial aircraft, the International Space Station, and other high-technology applications.
