Summary of position:
Under the general supervision of the appropriate Manufacturing Manager this position will maximize the use of the MRP system to manage production planning and shop floor scheduling, expediting and de-expediting and capacity planning.
This position is responsible for:
- Reviewing Engineering release packages for job requirements.
- Verifying Job Routings are correct.
- Application of correct resources and work centers as required.
- Daily monitoring for on time performance and delivery.
- Expediting and de-expediting orders to meet customer requirements.
- Interaction with plant Buyers, Engineering and Quality Departments and other disciplines.
- Shipment tracking/tracing for out vendor operations.
- Implement contingency plans with Purchasing and Manufacturing when capacity availability commitments are at risk and initiates work-around activity.
- Coordinate with Purchasing the planning and attainment of materials needed production requirements.
- Analyze, interpret, and make recommendations for MRP requirements to ensure appropriate inventory requirements are planned and changes are implemented.
Skills and Abilities:
- Must possess Microsoft Excel/ Word knowledge
- Intuitive ERP/MRP System Knowledge preferred
- Experience in multi-functional and product development teams preferred.
- Experience in a multi-shift manufacturing environment.
- Ability to manage high complexity projects within department.
- Must be an organized self-starter with good reasoning skills.
- Must be able to work under general supervision and take direction.
Experience/Education:
- Must have Bachelor's degree in business, industrial technology or related field
- Minimum 3 - 5 years related experience and/or training in scheduling
- OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Member of APICS and/or Planning Association a plus
