Flexial Corporation - Quality Technician / CMM Operator Job Description

Summary of position:
Reporting to Quality Engineer Inspection Supervisor, the Quality Technician will be a quality team member who will support manufacturing through dimensional inspections, visual inspections, metallurgical inspections, and receiving inspections.

This position is responsible for:

1. Performing dimensional inspections to a drawing using various gages such as: CMM, optical comparator, calipers, micrometers, thread gages, imaging systems, and GO/NOGO gages.
2. Performing metallurgical examinations by sectioning, mounting, grinding, and polishing samples and using microscope computer system to measure samples' dimensions and hardness properties.
3. Performing aided and unaided visual inspections on parts to look for cosmetic defects.
4. Assisting with gage control and calibration procedures.
5. Verifying supplier certifications as needed in regards to receiving inspections.
6. Initiating non-conformance reports for defective materials.
7. Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Skills and Abilities:

• Strong GD&T knowledge
• Proficient in using Excel and web browser technologies
• Mathematical and spatial thinking skills
• General understanding of ISO9000 and AS9100 quality system requirements
• Solid CMM experience preferred

Experience/Education:

• At least 3 years QA (Quality Assurance) experience
• ASQ CQI/CQT certification a plus

Shift:
2nd ( Monday-Thursday, 5:00PM - 3:30AM )
