Summary of position:
Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Program Manager is responsible for business development activities from technical proposals and presentations growing new business opportunities to detailed management of new business launches, customer service management, liaison between customer and operations, and sales and marketing activities.
This position is responsible for:
- Creating proposals for new business opportunities
- Support sales and marketing in presenting company capabilities to current and new customers
- Prepare bids and proposals in response to Requests for Quotes and other customer requests
- Participate in contract negotiations as required and review and manage purchase orders
- Customer/Program relationship management from Receipt of Contract through delivery of product
- Primary interface with the customer to report status, address risks, and ensure on-time delivery
- Ensure program is sufficiently defined to meet business objectives, product line goals, and customer commitments
- Work closely with functional leads to ensure appropriate assets are assigned to and support program milestones
- Manage programs to ensure compliance with all technical, quality, budget, and delivery requirements
- Provide for risk assessment and mitigation throughout the development program
- Travel as required, U.S. and global (heavy travel not likely)
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in utilizing and applying Microsoft Office Products; Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Experience in multi-functional and product development teams required
- Excellent verbal skills required; excellent writing skills required
- Professional appearance and demeanor is required
- Ability to manage multiple high complexity projects required
- Experience \ capability with technical sales important
- Must be an organized self-starter with good reasoning skills
- Familiarization or exposure to ERP/MRP Systems preferred
- Ability to interface effectively in international environments a strong plus
- Multi-lingual capabilities a plus (esp. French, German)
Experience/Education:
- Must have Bachelor's degree, engineering or business degree preferred
- Minimum 3 - 5 years related experience
- OR equivalent combination of education and experience
