Summary of position:
Reporting to the Quality Control (Validation) Manager, the Laboratory Test Technician 1 will be a quality team member who will perform functional testing on bellows and bellows-related product, assist in the development and implementation of test procedures in accordance with design criteria, document test results, and provide acceptance data in accordance with work instructions.

Essential duties and responsibilities (90%):
  1. Create a functional test environment that facilitates an efficient, ergonomic and effective utilization of space.
  2. Identify equipment and support components to increase efficiency, accuracy and/or data integrity and storage.
  3. Assist with technical issues for manufacturing personnel.
  4. Perform Functional tests per Process instructions and document all test results.
  5. Assist Engineering with tooling and fixture requirements for required tests.
  6. Maintain configuration control for Process Instructions and Forms.
  7. Confer with manufacturing personnel to assist in resolving issues relative to product designs, product functionality, materials, tooling and production processes that may adversely affect product quality utilizing continuous improvement techniques.
  8. Coordinate functional testing activities with quality and manufacturing, as required.
  9. Must be flexible and able to work varied hours to meet customer deadlines.
Other duties (10%):
  1. Establish and maintain a safe working environment in accordance with corporate policy.
  2. Maintain a clean and functional work area.
  3. Any other duties assigned by supervisor or manager.

EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
Technical degree from a two-year college or university; or two years related testing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous use of test equipment and gages preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical specifications, common business documents, and industry publications. Ability to respond effectively to inquires or complaints from manufacturing personnel. Ability to write reports or procedures and effectively present information to management, customers, vendors and employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inferences and fundamentals of plan and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages and ratios to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to work with principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.).

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Related certificates, licenses and regulations preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to walk, sit, talk and hear, stand, use hands; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. Physical requirements are to be able to lift 50 pounds. Vision requirements include ability to adjust focus, depth perception, peripheral, distance and close vision.

COMPUTER SKILLS
Must possess basic personal computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products. Knowledge of ERP systems is desired.

2nd ( Monday-Thursday, 5:00PM - 3:30AM )
